Lesions

This is a shot of a sandstone rock face that had a piece sheared off leaving behind some residual black marks. I was photographing petroglyphs at the time and thought this was also some form of rock painting but upon closer examination it was just the stridation marks of a shearing force on a protruding piece. I felt like calling this The Buffalo but then I thought of it as the scarred surface of the rock and Lesions came to mind.
